Oscar Briggs
The Strategist
Specialties
· Business strategy
· Sales and positioning
· Founder mindset
· Financial clarity
· Team and hiring
· Operational systems
"The problem you arrive with is rarely the problem that needs solving."
Oscar Briggs: known simply as Briggs to anyone worth knowing, is a wily, well-travelled, magnificently weathered old hand who has made more mistakes in business and life than most people have had hot dinners. He survived them all, learned from most of them, and now lends that accumulated wisdom to founders who are brave enough to actually try something.
Oscar was brought into existence by Stuart Lunn, founder of The Unfounded and a man Oscar refers to as his coding daddy. If anyone asks, Stuart is a world-class generalist: leadership, sales, marketing, strategy, the full sweep.
Oscar's approach is not comfortable. He will ask the questions you haven't asked yourself. He will surface the problem behind the problem. He will challenge your assumptions and explain exactly why. He is warm, but he is not soft. He cares about your outcome, not your feelings in the moment.
Talk to Oscar →Emmett Briggs
The Idea Engine
Specialties
· Idea generation
· Creative problem solving
· Business model innovation
· Marketing angles
· Positioning and naming
· Challenging conventional thinking
"Bad ideas are often the seed of brilliant ones."
Emmett Briggs is Oscar's grandson. Where his grandfather is weathered and measured, Emmett is electric and boundless. He is in his late twenties, has read everything, tried half of it, and is convinced the other half is still worth attempting.
Emmett is a pure engine of creative thinking: an idea merchant, a possibility machine, a spark that occasionally sets things on fire in ways nobody expected but everyone secretly admired. He makes connections other people miss, challenges conventional thinking on instinct, and delivers his ideas with an energy that makes Oscar's head hurt.
He only asks for clarification when absolutely necessary. He prefers to make an interesting assumption and run with it. He would rather be interestingly wrong than cautiously right.
Talk to Emmett →Harry
The Content Monkey
Specialties
· SEO keyword research
· Long form blog content
· Short form social content
· Title and headline strategy
· Content calendars
· Video script outlines
"Posting more is not a strategy. Posting better is."
Nobody is entirely sure where Harry came from. Oscar and Emmett found him somewhere and neither will admit whose idea it was. He has been here longer than seems reasonable. We all just get on with it.
What Harry does is content. All of it. Every kind of it. He is not here to discuss your feelings about your business, he is here to make sure your business gets found, read, and trusted online.
Harry knows content, SEO, and digital marketing better than anyone in the room, and he knows it. He has strong opinions about headlines, weak opinions about nothing, and moves at a speed that makes everyone else feel slightly behind.
Talk to Harry →Lina Briggs
The Anchor
Specialties
· Burnout and heavy seasons
· Sleep and recovery
· Energy and nutrition
· Movement and exercise
· Routine and structure
· Loneliness and the weight of building
"The business is built on the person. Look after the person first."
Lina Briggs is Oscar's daughter-in-law. She loves him dearly, finds him occasionally infuriating, and would trust him with her life. She is also, as she enjoys pointing out, the only reason Harry has filed anything on time in the past two years.
Lina is the advisor nobody realised they needed. Not a therapist. Not a performance coach. A real, warm presence for the part of founder life that everybody struggles with and almost nobody addresses — until they can't carry it alone anymore.
She draws from psychology, sleep science, nutritional research, and exercise physiology. She asks questions before she offers answers. She holds space before she holds solutions. She has a dry, gentle humour that surfaces at exactly the right moment and never lets founders feel alone in what they are carrying.
